POULTRY FARMERS [Newspaper Article] — The Leader — 16 January 1947

POULTRY FARMERS In a New Yeor message to the poul- try farmers. Mr. F. Gaudxy, President of the A.P.F.A. said that there wei many matters which the poultry farm- ers as a body required to deal with dur- ing 1947. Amongst these was the price of eggs; inadequate supplies and mount- ing costs of feed; the unjustified co tinuance of the 40 bird limit of back, yard poultry farms and the top heavy and expensive Jiature of marketing and Government controls. The Association has been unrelenting in its opposition to the att/iude of the Prices Branch in grinding the poul'ry farmer into poverty, while fixing a1 price for eggs which gives no considera j tion to the cost of production.
