Sincere and widespread regret wis felt throughout the district when it'beoune known that on Sunday 1lsi Ah Denis Foley, uf Serpentine, had met with 'in accident from which serious results were feared. Mr Foley was engaged lifting a bucket of milk over the fence of a pig-sty, ivhen the strain caused n bad lupturc. 'L'he unfoi tun.tle gentleman suffered severe psiiji, and Dr. 0. W. Duravin, whose seivices iveio obtained, found on examination that an operation was necessary. This was pel formed on .Monday by Drs. Long (I3en digo) and Delavin, but no prospect of the patient's recovery was hiiM out. Mv I'V.U'Y giadually sank, and death ensued at an early hour yestv.iday morning.
