BENEVOLENT BALL This year's benevolent ball took | place at the Federal Hall on Tuesday night last and amongst the most suc cessful of its predecessors none -was more successfull, none more pleasure able. The interior of the hall was ar tistically yet brightly decorated for the occasion. Garlands of pink and crim son roses were suspended from the coiling; tlio walls were drapod with tastefully blending art and silk mus lins, and shaded lamps, fairy lights and charmingly arranged pot plants com pleted most effective setting to the handsome costumes worn by the ladies in attendance.
