ADDITIONAL ENGLISH NEWS. The following telegram came to hand at 9 a.w. on Thursday : COMMERCIaX 8ÜMMARY. In the Wool trade there is great activity. The private demand for con- sumption is unabated. StockB are low. Liverpool Salt (coarse) opened two- pence dearer. ' Money is in ample supply. Discounts, 3 per cent, with good inquiry. The Stock market is recovering. New companies are unprecedently numerous. The Union Bank of Australia have declared a dividend of 13 per cent, and the Feel River Co., 2 per cent. The abare list of the Australian and Oriental Coal Co. bas closed. Australian securities are in brisk demand. Queensland debentures are quoted at 110J to 112; Victorian, 114; Sydney (fires), 101£ to 104,. PBODUCE. Tallow, firm, with a good business doing. Mutton, 45B. to 48s. Cd. ; beef, 44s. to 45s. Cocoanut Oil, 38s. Gd. . Spero, 96s. Hides, unaltered. Leather, one halfpenny dearer. Horns and Bones command high rates.

An inquest lias been held, and a verdict of wilful murder returned against a person or persons unknown. Thc Auburn station, in tho Burnett district, Queensland, has been sold for 8s. THE editor of the Courier must have gone astray, for his mantle appears to have fallen on other shoulders. At any rate, there is of late an unmistakeable desire on the part of the leading journal to damage Rockhampton. On Tuesday wo exposed a lame attempt on tho part of our contemporary to prevent the ex- tension of our railway. To-day we have tc call attention to an attack upon Mr. AncniuALD ARCHER and the Separation Committee.
