Tl»e Revival Movement. We append a _sketch of the progress of the revival movement in various portions of the country, as possessing, &t _preseut. more interest than anything else. The' Harrisburg Telegraph says, " The history of these1 " pious awakenings " _itssomewbat singular. They appear to have characterized especial periods, varying from ten to twenty and thirty years—beginning at a certain point, spreading, or irradiating with almost unerring certainty, throughout the whole Christian world. They have, as in this instance, often been known to immediately succeed terrible financial revulsions. _Whatever tends to ameliorate _«f$f<J: COndition of humanity—to make it better than it otherwise would be, or to advance the great course of morality and intellectual pijogress, we most heartily approve.
