LEWIS BURG CHRONICLE & WEST BRANCH FARMER. . Tha New York Sib-Treasury now con tains 810,000,000 in gold, and a few hun- drcJs in silver coin. The safe coutaiuinjr the coin is kept in the Custom House, and is coinise'l of double sheet iron, ftrcngtli oneil by truss bar of lattice work of cast steel rods, K'tweea which no instrument can cut or fire. The safe is fifteen foci long, eight wide, and about as many feel l'igh. It is divided into l wo apartments, in the innrr one of which the money is de posited, and as it has three thick iron doors, each having two I.K'ks, the keys to which are distributed at night among thi differ ent clerks the Assistant Treasurer keep ing himself the register of the principal kvy, so that the safe cannot be unlocked unless all are present.
