Home, Farm and Garden Management of Bees. 1. The breeding and wintering depart ment fthould be entirely independent of the boxes or receptacles for kurplus honey, that when thoae receptacles are removed, tlje bees may be as warmly and snugly secured as in a cloee box of about 2,000 cubic inches capacity. This apartment of the hive should not much exceed that size. 2. The receptacles for turplus honey hlioald be placed in such intimate con nection with the sides or tpof the breed ing apartment, that the bees may pans as readily from that tpartmeut to the boxes, as from one sheet of comb to the other in the central apartment. The side board h to the box forming the breed ing apartment are simpiy attached with :rex-iif; on their removal, the sheets of comb on both sides are ready to have the surplus boxes placed as near to the comb as one sheet of comb stands to another in the breeding apartment, and with guide-comb in the boxes, the bees lose no time in preparation, but com mence thei...
