TUESDAY HOBSUG, JJJk g?L Tax Ecectxon.?Tho, election yester day passed off tolerably quietly. The day was: cool,/and the crowds usually about the polls were small. Carriages wore going all day?hauling voters to . and from the polls. A -good deal of liquor was in circulation, it being freely dispensed at several of the voting places. We understand that an order was issued to close up the drinking houses, but, perhaps for want of full publication, theorder was not generally observed, so far -as our observation went. A good deal of hard work was" done by all hands, and as a consequence a heavy vote was polled. Below will be fonnd the vote: ESS ?? gg S s- 0 f 3 s; E I M 11 I Mayor.
