About 9 o'clock that evening a well-known citizen of Genoa was convivializing with two professional sporting gentle men at tVinstou's bar, when one ot the latter proposed a game of cards, which was accepted by the two others. The party was soon in a $5 limit game of poker. For a while the Genoese played in excellent luck, when the proposition was made tojlay without limit, which was also unanimously agreed upon. The two sporting men had entered into a contract to fleece the countryman, and they dealt him four jacks, the dealer took four queens, and the third received four aces.
