So much interest is manifested in Sabine Pass that Galveston is seldom mentioned in connection with deep water. At present Gal- veston has the advantage of all on her side she has the capital and also railroad connection. A New York special to the Houston Post says that within the next thirty days the Texas and Pacific Iron Mountain In- ternational and Kansas roads will all be consolidated under one management and that it will effect a great saving in ex- pense. It is thought also that the result will be to put the roads all on a divident paying . basis. Scientific circles are agitat- ed over a new fuel for locomo- tives just discovered of won- derful power and cheapness.
