On the occasion of my last visit an intrusion of rock had met with which had tho appear ance of forming the hanging wall, but since theu lode material has been found to exist behind it. The hard rock has a thickness of 13 fcot, and is trending north. ISdog. west. It appears to be rising with tho hill as on the north side of the drive, it is breast high sloping down to the floor of the drive on tho south side. The cross cut has been driven 10 feet beyond it but although in lode stuff therein no ore.* 'The ijueslion therefore presents itself, does t|iiB apparently intrusive rock form the bang-' iog wall or not. So far no western wall has yet been found, cither iu this mine or in tbo Comet, and as this same bar of rock, which is a hard silicons limestone crops up in ths creek it is evidently continuous...
