Domestic Intelligence. A number of mails for Swan River and India have been received at the General Post Office, Sydney, from the vessels arrived during the past   week.-The Hooghly may be shortly expected with prisoners from Ireland.-The Earl of Stanhope, a new ship of nearly 300 tons, has been despatched to the whaling ground, from London,   by the house of Messrs. W. Walker & Co. The Hunter's River, at Maitland, has risen con- siderably from the late rains, which were so par- tial, that they were not felt at the Patterson or William's Rivers.--Escape from the     Hulk.-On Monday morning, it was discovered that some prisoners had escaped from one of the cells on board the Phoenix Hulk; on a search being made, it was ascertained that the bars had been cut from the ports, through which Farrell, convicted of the Bank robbery; Smith, alias Sculthorpe, a runaway from Macquarie Harbour ; Thomas Williams, and James Tansley, had ef- fected th...

MARKETS. The market was thinly stocked this morning with every description pf produce. 230 bushels of WHEAT were disposed of, from 6s 3d to 7s ner bushel, MAIZE retained its late price», OATS, BARLEY, and BYE, stationary. DAIRY PRODUCE was a shade lower. POULTRY has,advanced considerably since our last quotations. Cattle are still scarce, and maintain higher prices. Sheep without any al. teration. Pigs at moderate prices, and not much in demand. Horses, if of a good breed, are in demand, at an advanced price. The fait which has taken place in flour, has caused a cor- responding reduction in bread.
