M.       SHIP NEWS. - On Sunday last returned from a sealing voyage to the Coast of New Zealand, which occupied an absence of nearly nineteen weeks, the colonial brig Sophia (belonging to Mr. T. W. BIRCH), Captain KELLY ; having procured 3000 seal skins.

MASSACRE of THREE EUROPEANS by the NATIVES of the      SOUTH COAST OF NEW ZEALAND.–The following particulars of the loss of three of the crew of the brig Sophia, of this port, by the Natives of Port Daniel, on the S. E. side of the south coast of New Zealand, with which we have been favored by Mr. Kelly, the mas- ter of that vessel, whose arrival is above stated, will be interesting to our Readers:—                       " The Sophia, Mr. James Kelly master, sailed from Hobart Town on the 12th of November, 1817, on a sealing voyage, and anchored at Port Daniel, on the S. Sitting Magistrate - A.F. KEMP, Esq. SHIP NEWS - The brig Greyhound, Captain RITCHIE, which lately arrived here from Calcutta with merchandize, sailed on Tuesday day last for Port Jackson. - Passengers, Lieut. MACQUARIE, of the 86th regt, who came hither in that vessel from India; and Mr.   G. W. EVANS, Deputy Surveyor General; who, we understand, goes up to accompany the Surveyor General on a further expedition expected to proceed shortly into the interior. A signal was made on Thursday morning for a brig from the northward, and afterwards that she had put into Adventure Bay; but,   it appears, this vessel proceeded from thence to sea before a boat which His Honor the Lieutenant Governor sent down could reach her. The pilot, who was on board the ship Duke of Wellington (taking in hay down the river for the cattle she is to convey to the Isle of France), saw the Greyhound the previous day put into the before-mentioned bay, with the apparent loss of her main...
