He was also fined 10s, or 48 hours, for using obscene languiaie. * '' Mary Aian Reardon was charged with being drunk and disorderly. . She was set at liberty. L. Keena, charged with a like offence, was dealt with in a similar manner. The cases of the Police v the Borough Council of Wangaiatta in the lunacy cases of Jeffrey, Barrow, and Rice were postponed until Thursday, fith inst. Ellen Tulty v Robert Weir-This was an adjourned case. The defendant had been previously ordered to pay, on. 30th November, I871, a certain sum for the maintenance of an illegitmate child. A meeting of the Ovens and Murray Pigeon Shooting Club was heold at the Royal, Victoria Hotel, Wangaratta, on Saturday, the 31st ult.; presont, Dr.'- Hutchineon, in the chair, and Messrs. Crone, Connolly, Norton, Cross, and Oeorge Powell (secretary). The minutes of the first meeting 'of the club were read and confirmed. -The secretary reported that all those who had been elected members at the last meeting and were not present had either been personally seenor written to, and had consented to act. The subscription of Mr. F. McDonnoll, of Benalla, and Mr Bladon, of Beechworth, were received. 'The members present also paid in their subscriptions. The rules of the Metropolitan Pigeon Shooting Club were adopted with certain alterations suggested by a sub committe. It was deter mined that the rules be printed, also some cir culars. SIN QUEST. On Friday lost Dr Miller, the deputy. coroner, held an inquest at the Sydney Hotel, Waugaratth, on the body of William Rice, who bad been found drowned in the Ovens .River.
