An Old Pioneer. Mr. Thomas Bakmxg, of Silver-hill, New Canterbury-road, Uulwich hill, died at his residence on Wednesday, after an illness of short duration, aged 6'i. For ninny years Mr. Barling was identified with pastoral pursuits in New South Wales, and un to 15 months ago he resided on his station, ' Dunwell,' near Scone, with his wife and daughter. He then sold trie pro perty with the intention of quietly passing the remainder of his life at Petersham. Five weeks ago his health, which up to then had been good, began to fail. The funeral moved from Silver-hill on Thursday morning for Summer-bill station, whence it entrained for Rook wood. The interment took place in the con gregational portion of the cemetery. The Rev: W. Cunliffe Jones, of Home bush ofllciated. The chief mourners were Messrs. Joseph Barling (Public Service Board), John Barling, and James Barli g (brothers), and l)r. E. Vernon Barling (nephew).
