The Way to Bo It. Messrs. Editor: Six years ago, an honest, hard-working 'man, went from the vieimtv of Norwich Conn, to the far we.-t. He had in hU pocket A capital of 400, which he had carefully husbanded again-t a raining day". On ai riving 1 Iiis place of destination he purchased a snug little farm which he planted with peach trees. His- neighbors, no doubt, thought him foolish and visionary, but he kept his own counsel. His second crop of peaches yielded sufficient-, to pay for hi-; land and leave him a gain of 400 bnt the last, year his peach crop yielded him a profit of thousands. There is, perhaps, many a spot on your farm nearly worthless, it being so rocky that it is almost impossible to plow it, and only producing brakes, briers and noxious weeds. I would bv all means ad vise you to set out fruit-trees, es - pecially the apple tree. Plant a tew eviy year, and in i, sh...

The Bank of England. Col. Fuller late of New York Mirror says in n recent letter from Loudon: 'The building covers about kree acre3 of ground. Many of its rooms are copied from the classic models of Greece and Rome. The employees number about one thousand. Several of the officers reside in the bank. Iso note is ever issued the second time. The notes redeemed each day are checked, canceled and put away in boxes. After keeping them ten years they are bounded. The accumulation of the last ten years now in the vaults of the bank amounts to 300 millions pounds! And yet any one of these notes can be referred to in a minute and the history of its issue and its return given. The bank does all its own printing and several presses are kept busy. Every thing is done by machinery the note is not touched by the pen before it goes out. I held in my hand one note for one million of pound?. In the bullion room ingots of gold were piled up like cords of wood and silver bars in vast mountains. The ma...
