Statistics shQw that the number of Jews in the world is estimated at 6,300, 000. The remarkable thing about it is that the best authorities say that from earliest time, the number of Jews has remained nearly constant, and as far as known has not gone much over or less than 6,000,000. - . The revival of the linen industry in this country may be looked for in new discoveries. A new process of setting or macerating flax has been found. In the early decades of our existence as a nation, the industiy was veiy flourishing, but with the improvements in cotton raanfacturing it fell into decay, and for many years, nearly all our fabrics except coarsest, have been imported. Judge Win. C Hazledine, who is well known in this territory, is favorably mentioned as a candidate to represent Bernaalillo county in the constitutional si,' convention of New Mexico. He has served in ...

The commemoration of the day, de voted to the remembrance of the heroic dead, whose lives were dedicated to the service of their country, was observed in a spirit worthy of the occasion. Early in the morning the national col ors were unfurled from many buildings, at half mast. The appearance on the streets of great numbers arrayed in different uniforms., particularly that of the soldiers worn by, the veterans, who passed through the terrible ordeal of an internecine conflict, betokened that the recurrence of the .eventful day would be honored with undiminished interest. At about 10 o'clock the battalion from Whipple was met by Wm. DeWitt, marshal of the day, and took the line "of march, under the command of Capt. James Regan, aided by Lheutenants McKillop, Palmer, Carpenter, Fenton and Herser, of companies B, C, F and I. The national a...
