OVER FALLS AND LIVES Woman Rides Ovir Niagira Falls In a Bar rell and Lives. She Is a Teacher From Michigan , am Has Only a Few Bruises as a Result Niagara Falls , , N. Y. ( Slpeclal. ) Mrs. Annie Edson Taylor , 50 years old , went over Niagara Falls on the Can adian side and survived , a feat never before accomplished , and , in fact , nevei before attempted except in suicide. Slu made the trip in a barrel. No onl > did she survive , but she escaped with out a broken bone , her only apparenl injuries being a scalp wound one and a half inches long , a slight concus sion of the brain , some shock to her nervous system and bruises about th j body. ( Special. ) The manner In which the people of Bay Minette stole a Jail and a courthouse from the people of Daphne will go down in the records of the state as an interesting bit of history. The peo ple of Daphne are still rubbing their eyes and wondering how It all hap pened. It was done according to law , but the Daphneites intended to get the law on the Bay Minetteites and ' foil them. They were caught napping and the whole state Is laughing at them. The episode forms a most re markable story of "hustling. A TRIUMPH FOR FRANCE. Turkey Yields To All Her Demands For Settlement of Dispute , Belief That Other Nations Will See A Precedent In the Success of Force. Paris , Nov. 11. France has scored a complete triumph in the Turkish dis pute. The foreign office has received advices announcing that the sultan has yielded to the entire demands formu lated by the French government , and onl ythe question of form regarding the execution of the engagements re mains to be settled.
