A a a strong and highly respectable party of gentlemen have seen cause to bolt the action of the County Convention and refuse to acknowl edge its work and validity, and ns we were one of the members of that Convention, we propose to give our views of the affair. First, we have attended almost eveiy County Con vention that has assembled in Bolivar for the last four or five years, and the Conven tion of last Monday was, outside of noise and useless debate, exactly similar to those we have attended heretofore. Utah Central Railroad, and in theii labors thej have exhumed many relics, which are interesting to archaeologists. Officer I. Y. Hampton brought a gunnj sack full ot bones, frag ments of pottery, flint arrow-heads, pieces of sulphur, and a species of brick to our office this morning, which had just been dug up by the men engaged in leveling the ground. A long row of fire-places was discovered yesterday, two or three more were found to day, and the bones which he brought were those of a skeleton, which was found in a sitting posture, with its chin resting on its breast, near one of the fire places. Judge Strong wag elected in 1850 as a demo crat to the Supreme Bench of Pennsylvania, but afterwards became a Republican, and about a jear since resigned. It is reported that Mr. Franklin Dick, . native of St Louis, Mo., will be nominated ty the President for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, in place of Judge Hoar, immediately after the rejection of the latter by the Senate.
