THE MOON NOT A DEA1} STAB. Dβ." H- J. Kcein, who, two years ago, announced a ue'w crater in that world of extinct volcanoes, tho moon, has a brief article' in Ln> Nature, in which he gives. reasons for believing that the moon is not dead. Ho has' rocontly examined draw ings of the neighbourhood of the now crater by Gruithuisen, which strongly confirm the theory of recent changes on tho lunar sur face, and citos also the drawings of Messr?. Nelson and Green in furthor proof thereof. Prof. Klein adda that he announced the now ] depression near Hyginus as v crater, from analogy. ? It is a crater funnel, and even ono of tho largest. By tho uso of high powors it is remarked that the environs of the new crater appear to bo fissurod in v...
