On Monday last, the 19th instant, the ship Prince Regent arrived from Eng- land, bringing letters and papers to the ] 1th of May. We have given copious extracts from the most interesting that have come within our reach ; and at pre- sent shall contine our observations to the leading- topics connected with public af- fairs in Britain, and on the Continent of Europe. By far the most important news to the inhabitants of these Colonies, is the of- ficial announcement, that General Richard Bourke, a native of Limerick, and late Acting Governor at the Cape of Good Hope, is appointed Governor of New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land. No other appointments are at present Gazetted, but it is understood, by private letters, that other changes will speedily follow. MARKETS. The market on Thursday was but indifferently supplied. About 600 bushels of WHEAT were brought from Bathurst and the New Country, aQ(i sold from 6á to 7s 3d. DAIRY PRODUCE i, a shade lower. VEGETABLES abundant at good prices. Beef and mutton have undergone a considerable rise in price, since our last, in cm sequence of the scaicity of fat animals. Pig* were plentiful, without alteration in price. The accounts of the state of the crops, are, ure feel happy in stating, highly favourable.

The King is highly popular with all classes of his subjects, and is received everywhere with the most unbounded enthusiasm.-The London Gazette of April 22, contains a proclamation dissolving the Parliament and declaring the calling of another.-There was a general illu- mination in England, on the 25th of April, to celebrate the dissolution of Parliament. Major-General Bourke, K. C.
