Odd lotes. iRv Alaric vhe Goth.) Tlw appearance of the 'Chronicle' has caused n stir in .Moreton, and the jfenere.l opinion is that it will be the means cif jnvitisj n more healthy turn to distric-t affairs in central and shire council doings in particular. The only discordant note, so far. Like Arteiaus Ward's fanious kangaroo, he is 'the most amoosing cuss ever placed before the discriminating public' of Moreton, who have, for some years, been weekly dosed with his narrow, 'antiquated political notions and bitterly unfair criti cism, so characteristic of his class and early training. The actions ...

The sea ceaseth. but i! sufficfeth us. - j High roller, low roller, lojver roller. Give Grimes Jim's great gilt gig whip. Two toads, totally tired, triecf- to trot to Tedbury. Strict, strong Stephen Striujger snared slickly six sickly silky snakes. She stood at the door of Mrs. Spiith's fishsauce shop welcoming him in. | Swan swam over the sea ; svlim, swan, swim ; swan swam r?ack again ; well svTum, swan. Cricket/ NAMBOUR V. CABOOLTURE. Last Saturday morning a team j representing the Nambour C.C. j journeyed to Caboolture to try con clusions with the 'knights of the willow' at that place. Mirth and song dominated on the run down, some fine ' base,' ' barrowtone,' and 'tender' voices being .dis covered amongst the Nambour warriors : and the melody produced in the rendering of such high-class and up-to-date numbers as ' Cock Robin.' ' We'll roll the old chariot along,' 'Old John Brown,' &c, &c, was truly affecting — to one's nerves. All, however, survived it,, and, on detraining at Caboolture, the visitors were met by some of the home team, and escorted to the convincing ground, at tee rear of the Royal Hotel. Play was started about 12 o'clock. V. Gaylard, the Nambourites' skipper, lost the toss to A. Toms, the opposing captain, who elected to take the field. Nambour's stay at the creases was not of long duration, the innings, towards the latter end of which a shower be...
