' Elopement of a Bride. , The wife:of Mr. Peile, of lnverkip, Renfrew shire, head land steward on the extensive .estates of Sir Michael Stewart, <has eloped, ^during her honeymoon," with a wealthy Cumberland landowner, who is a married man ,with a large family. The lady in qnestion is; the daughter of the He v. R. CoUingwood, who recently resigned the living at In on, in West Cumberland, owing to continued ill-rhealth, and her marriage took place at Irton, as recently as April 19, when it was celebrated with great ceremony and rejoicing, there being every indication of an auspicious and happy union. It is said, however, that, soon atter the nuptials, facts were brought to the knowledge of thp unsuspecting 'bride groom, which led to an estrangement between the " happy couple," foliowed by the, oride seeking protection elsewhere in t^he; manner described.- ! j
