A new well was struck on Tuesday after noon, shout seven miles west of the Cooper well, on Wildcat territory in Butler county. This opens up an entirely new line, probe bly running parallel with the Parker belt. It was commenced last winter, and the operators struggled against unusual ani. cila dificulty. The sand rock we reached at about 1,423, feet and the drill bhad just penetrated the rock when the oil began to flow, with a large volume of gas, throwing the stream to an enormous height, and set tang fire to the derrick. One man, wbhose name we did not learn, was severely burned. The fire was extinguished after consider able effort, but not before the derrick and enganehouse were completely destroyed.
