A Candid Editor. L & H HUNING. ISA w' -... 1 1 r We have received visits from sev eral of onr leading politicians to inquire why the Kicker doesn't take a decided political stand in favor of one party or the other. It is a ques tion, easily answered. Wo are not .publishing a new? paper for fun. Our convictions all run to publish ing a 'dictionary or an almanac, Ihus leaving us neutral in politics. If the Kicker flies the democratic-flag and hustles for Cleveland and Thurman it must have some solid assurance that after election the " editor will receive a call, A call -with a salary of about $3,000 hitch ed to it would just about fit our shape.' If the Kicker puts up the repub lican ticket and blows for its. suc cess .it must have something in writing to fall back on after clec tion. We think we could fall back on a post office of the second-class " and not fracture our anatomy.
