Died Afttr a Lingering Illness. Mrs. Laura Trances lierkstrcsser, theyoung wifcofj. F. Berkstresser, deputy postmaster of Versailles, died last Thursday night at the baptist Sanitarium in St. Louis, aged 29 years and 25 days, Mrs. Herkstresstr had been under the care of physicians here for sev eral months, but her condition, which at first took the form of nerv ous prostration, balded every effort for her benefit and she grew worse. It was discovered that she was af flicted with a tumor and Monday night of last week, accompanied by her husband and sister Mrs. John Shannep and Dr. Well she was taken, to St. Louis and placed in charge of the physicians at the San itarium. Wednesday an operation was per formed, but while the patient with stood this ordeal her physical con dition was such that reaction proved unfavorable and Thursday evening death .-elieved her of her suffering.
