Owing to Excessive Reins the Orient Bridge Across Brazos Gave Way RIVER WAS OUT OF BANKS Big Rains Will Mean Many Thousands of Dollars to the Extensive Fall Wheat and Oat Crop. Owing to excessive rains fall- ing over this entire section and also very heavy rains to the west and southwest of here the Orient bridge across the Brazos River, one of the longest bridges in this part of the state, washed away last Monday morning about six o'clock. The Stamford and Northwestern bridge near Sag- erton and the wagon bridge west of Rule are also gone as the ef- fect of those excessive rains. His letter is as follows. To the Public: At a recent meeting of representative live stock men with the State sanitary board and a representative of the bureau of animal industry of the department of agriculture, a resolution was adopted calling upon the governor and legislators for a more liberal appropriation for the support of the sanitary board.
