In Texas, shoppers will get a break from both state and local sales taxes on Aug. 5, 6, and 7 dur- ing the state's seventh annual tax holiday. The holiday was originated as a way to make back-to-school shopping easier while helping to boost spending across the state, according to information from the Comptroller's Office.
