WEEDING v. WEEDING. [Newspaper Article] — Kyabram Union — 25 March 1887

.: WEEDINt-}'dWEEDING On Monday Mr. Jaticr Webbhh dis missed the petition of the .nstorionu Weeding for a.divorce. It is not often that a judge is able to cite so many-and so clear autnorities agaanst granting a divorce to a petitioner of .Weodin?'? antecedents. Lord Truro said :-" One of the principles upon which-this court proceedls is that the persons who resort to it for relief must come with clean hands." Variona Lord Chancellors, and other learned judges who have pre sided at the divorce court, have emphi "tirally laid down the same principle. Weeding was certainly an exceptional petitioner. The evidence which he gave against himself very nearly lost him the verdict lif'the jury in the first case; in deed, his'dharactir and habits, as de scribeh by himself, formed such an ex teedinely black ~ndl grimy background that the co-respondent stood out in liihter colours than he perhaps other wise would have done. The jury, how ever, believed some ot the other, and nothing in Mr. Just...
