CONsiDE'RABLE excitement has 'per vaded our usually quiet towiiship within, the last few days in conse quence- of the intelligence havingi reached Wagga Wagga that.some new diggings had been stailted in our vicinity. Although we have no desire to raise false hopes or to lead.to expec tationxs which could only end 'in disap pointment.we should be wrongdid we not publish the news that has reached us, sined there' seems to be no doubt as to the" reality of this' gold-field.
