FIRST GRADE Gerringong v. Pyree This match was played at Jubilee Park, Ger'ringong, on Saturday and resulted in Gerringong winning their first match of the season by 13 points to 6 after Pyree had led 4 to 2 at half-timne. The game was par ticularly fast throughout, especially in the second half when some excel lint football was produced. The outstanding player on the ground was Ken Stephen, the Gerringong five-eighth, who was playing his first game with the team. ills work was responsible for the three tries scored by the Conga. SHOOTING FATALITY [Newspaper Article] — Kiama Independent — 18 June 1947

SHOOTING FATALITY. A most unfortunate accident oc curred at Albion Park on Monday last. Rex -Brownlee, 15 year old son of Mr. and Mrs: George. Brownlee& of Albion Park, was shot dead when a shot gun was accidently discharged. With Williamn and Jack Farthing he was shooting rabbits near Mt. Terry. Whilst the gun was being passed over, a rock it caught. on a bush and went off. Birownlee received the charge in the chest alid William Farthing, son of Constable Farthing of Albion Park; was struck in the face with pellets. Sincere sympathy-4s extended to. the lad's parents and to his yoiunger brothers, Bariry, Johin, Raymonid and' Peter; and to his sister, Helen The funeral took place yesterday (Tuesday) at the Albion Park Catho lic cemetery. Requiem Mass was held on Tuesday morning.
