MIXED BIRDS SHOOT HELD BY BENALLA GUN CLUB. ALTHOUGH weather conditions were ideal for the Benalla Gun Club's starling and sparrow shoot on Baturday, fast strong birds tested the shooter's skill and no large breaks were registered. The gun case trophy was won by A. Jordan of Shopparton, from Don McLean, Mansfield, and G. Goodman Benalla. McLean who was the most consistent performer for day, 'also won the club handicap • trophy and divided several other events. - se markably strong birds were respon slble for a large percentage of second barrel kills. Gordon Goodman was the best local performer and divided the sparrow handicap with D. Toner, both shooters scoring 8 straight kills. Toner used one second barrel in this event, and Goodman also divided the attached sweep for the main trophy. Gordon Diamond shot well to win a trophy and sweepstakes outright with 7/8, and WV. Firth was the only other local shooter to share in a divi sion. Other local shooters who shot well without success ...
