'assengers from Sydney» Mr. Dixon» of this Settlement, and Mr. Parker.. On Thursday last arrived from England, touching at the Cape on her passage, the ship Jupiter, Captain John Park, with a number of women and families who have been sent out by Government to join their relatives in these Colonies, together with 12 females from the Guardian Society, and 15 pensioned non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the Royal Artillery, to serve as overseers in New South Wales and Van Diemen's Land. The death of Marshal Davoust, one of the moat celebrated French General», took place at the end of May.-Of the leaders who wore chiefly employed by Bonaparte/ many haiTe died since his fall, viz. Massena, Serrurier, Augereau,/Berthier, and Rapp; besides Murat and Ney; of this number only two had passed their 53d year. The Glasgow* frigate, with the Marquis of Hastings on board, arrived at Genoa on the 22d May. The sum estimated fpr the additional buildings at the British Museum, for the re reception of. the Royal Library, &c. is £40,000. A steam packet, of 300 tons, With a machine of 80-horse power, is established between ' England and Corunna, Lisbon, Seville, and Cadiz. SHIP NEWS. - Arrived yesterday from Leith, touching at the Cape of Good Hope on her passage, the Australian Company's ship Greenock, Captain Richmond. On Tuesday last sailed for Port Jackson, the ship Jupiter, Captain Park, with a pro- portion of the free women which she lately   brought from England. The Deputy Judge Advocate, accompanied   by the Provost Marshal, and other Officers of the Lieutenant Governor's Court, returned to town yesterday evening from Port Dalrymple, after holding a Sittings of the Court at that settlement.
