Fruitgrowers Form A Defence League JOLTED out of their apathy by the compulsory acquisition by the Fed eral Government of all their apple and pear crops, fruitgrowers throughout Victoria are combining to form a State-wide Defence League. The new organisation will, however not confine itself to fruitgrowers and their problems, but will include all primary producers including poultry farmers, market gardeners, dairy farmers, and the like. Next Friday night at Hurs.bridge Hall a meeting will be held to form the Diamond Valley Branch of this Defence League and leading speakers from the parent body will be present. It will be in the interests of the pro ducers themselves to attend this meeting and join the League so that in the future when a crisis arises the whole State will be able to speak with one voice.
