,¡' . QUEENSLAND. ' - 'We extract the following Hern» from our Queensland files. - <;86A. PINB.- Mr. Wetiham, of the './'Moreton Hay Dugong Fisheryj brought .' :!Íip¡a few days ago two tine specimens of ,:.what is called "Sea Pine"-a tree or shrub which grows at the bottom of the sea. It bears some alight resemblance to the real pine grown on " terra firma," and is not known to reach a greater height than five ur six feet, but it has never yet been tilted scientifically, and noone stems to be aware whether it possesses any com- mercial value or not. As a curiosity, ' however, it is well worth inspection, and - with this view, the specimens in question 'have been placed in the hands of Mr. Dowse, who, we understand, intends to include them in the category of exhibits for the Great Exhibition of .1862. The roots of the trees seem to be formed of marine shells, curiously interwoven and beautifully dis .;r':pojed iu point of colouring. The stem, ^".'.and branches are ' also :...
