LAW OF ILLINOIS , lost goods and estray animals . SRC 15 . If any person shall take up any boat or vessel , or any stray beast as aforesaid , or shall find any goods , money , bank notes or other choscs in action , and shall fail to comply with the requisitions of this act , every suc-li person so offending , shall forfeit and pay the sum of twenty dollars , to be recovered before any justice of the peace , by any person xvho \ xill sue for the same , the one half whereof shall be for the use ol the- person suing , and the other half for the county : PROVIDED , that nothing herein contained shall prevent the owner from having and maintaining his action against such person , for the recovery of any or she may sustain . CASHAIEIIE . —The shawls of Cashmere sup , ply the whole civilized world . It is said that they are manufactured at 16 . 000 looms , each or which gives employment to two or three men . The xvork is so inconceivably tedious , by which the fine patterns are produced , that not more than one inch is completed in a whole day . It is not unusual to find one loom occupied with one shawl an entire year . The wool of which they are made is brought from Thibet , consisting of the inside coal or down of sheep peculiar to that mountainous region . The wool is at first of a grey color , but being bleached , it becomes a beatiful white , and lakes the various dyes readily when spun . It is a curi- ous fact tl athe borders are attached lo tie shawls after fabrication , so delicately , that no eve can detect the junction .
