The weather has been quite dry for some time, but otherwise pleasant and favorable for farm woik and starting veg etation. A fatal affray took place last Monday night, between two colored men, on the plantation of Mr. J. E. Torrence. Pierre was killed by being struck on the head with an axe and Jonba surrendered him self to the authorities the next morning, claiming to have committedthe deed in self.defence.
