More barbod wire is sold in Iowa than any othor* State iu the Union. The tax upon it, levied by the Washburn, Neve'n & Co. monopoly, is quite onerous, and the farmers of Iowa do not nropoeo to pay it. It is not strange thereforo that they should join the State Farmers' Pro­ tective asssooiation to protect themselves against tlio monopoly. To a proper under­ standing of this matter, I will say the State Farmers' Protective association is regularly incorporated under the laws of the State.
