Dr. Qravet Suicides THE ALLEDGED MURDER- / ER OF MRS. BARNABY FOUND DEAD IN HIS CELL. Denver, Col., Sept. 3.—The fa- mous murder case of Dr. Thacher Graves, formerly of Providence, R. I., Has been settled. The doctor was found dead in his cell in the county jail this morming, where he was awaiting a rehearing on the charge of having poisoned Mrs. Josephine Barnaby, a wealthy wo man of Providence. The poisoning is said to have been done to cover up Grave's alleged defalcations as manager of Mrs. Barnaby's estate. In a satchel in the doctor's cell were found five letters. The first was written August 9, the last show- ing that suicide had been contempla- ted since then.
