We. understand that the road between this city and Richmond, has been for several weeks almost impassible, owing to the large quantity of water that has collected on the prairie along Bray's bayou. On the present route to Richmond and Fayelleville there has been for some time a continuous sheet of water, four or five miles wide; and this in many places has been two or three feet deep. It will be difficult to construct a good road on this route, as it will be necessary to construct a. causeway elevated two or three feel above the surface of the prairie, and extending across the track that has been thus inundated. A few years since, some enterprising planters residing on the Biazos, surveyed and mark- ed out a road extending in a direct line from Fay- etteville to Houston.
