To the Public: Realizing that the field at thin place for the proper support of two newspapers ia insufficient, and believing that the business men of Chillicothe will better sustain one paper than two, the publishers of the Independent and of the Valley News have en- tered into an agreement by which the two papers are to consolidate the first of September. The Valley News is to take over the subscription list and good will of the Independent, and we are to be with that paper as associate editor- All accounts and subscriptions due the Inde- pendent up to the ti me of con- solidation are payable to the Independent editor. Owing to the two hard years that we have gone through quite a number have fallen behind with thc,ir dues, and we hope these little items may be settled as soon as possible. Thanking our patrons for their past support and soliciting the same good ...
