®l)e Published Every Wkdnesday Japsbb, Texas, Aug. 17th 1887. FARM NOTES. Times- Democrat. Scaly Legs. Fowls that have scaly legs should receive immediate atten- tion, for the sooner it is attended to the easier it is to cure. It is a quite common affliction at this time of the year and takes away from the beauty of the fowls. The scales arc caused by innumera- ble very small parasites which gather in the form uf thin scales It can be easily cured at first by the application of a mixture of sulphur and lard,v but if it is de- layed the scales will increase in Bize and will soon have a white wartisli appearance. They will thon have to be bathed several times with warm soapsuds,or an pil of some kind, until they be come soft. They can thon be picked off quite casilv, after which tho sulphur and lard should be applied two or three times. This will cure scaly legs, and keep the fowls free from this trouble for some time to come, as tho sulphur is very ob- noxious to insect of all kinds....
