LOCAL INTELLIGENCE. [Newspaper Article] — Cootamundra Herald — 20 February 1877

LOCAL -INTELLIGENCE. Cricket .Match Cootamundra, v. Wagga. — We are sorry to say that through- -air unfortunate contretemps tho above match has fallen through. The Cootjiinundra Club had selected three men from'' Burro wa , and on that ground the Waggu Club objected to a competition for the J ones cup. A special coach had been engaged from Cobb and Cos to carry our team to Wagga and back; and the objection did not arrive in time to stop the coach or the Burrowa men coming to Cootamundra, consequently much incon venience and expense has been , suffered by the local club to no purpose. We under stand that private members of the Wagga Club, when spoken to on the subject some time ago, stated that there would be no objection to the selection of the Burrowa men on given conditions, with which condi tions a ready compliance was accorded:- and on this understanding it was sought to arrange the match. But we should bear in mind that the Wagga. Club cannot be- held responsible for the statem...
