AT an early Hour on Sunday, the Telegraph at Mount Nelson announced a Ship in Sight from the Northward; and little doubt was entertained that it was the Midas, which Ship having on board His Excellency the Governor in Chieft Mrs. Macquarie, and Master Macquarie, and Suite, was known to have sailed from Port Jackson for the Derwent on the 5th Instant. At One o'Clock the Pilot's Signal from on board, notifying that His Excellency was in the Offing, reached the   Lieutenant Governor; and at Two the Naval Officer and His   Honor's Secretary went down the River to attend His   Excellency on board. The Wind then blew in squalls from the N. W. preventing the Ship from getting into the River; and   a Continuance of the same Weather compelled her to Anchor abreast of Storm Bay Passage during Sunday Night. HOBART TOWN. Sitting Magistrate - Thomas Bell, Esquire. By the ship Midas, Captain Beveridge, which brought His Excellency the Governor, Mrs. Mac- quarie, and Master Macquarie, as reported in our Gazette Extraordinary on Wednesday last, arrived, in the Suite of His Excellency, Major Taylor, of the 48th Regiment, Lieutenant Macquarie, Aide de-Camp, and William Redfern, Esq. - By this vessel, which is destined for Macquarie Island, also arrived Mrs. Underwood and family. SHIP NEWS.-On Wednesday last returned to port, the brig Sophia,   Captain Read, from Kangaroo Island, with 42 tons of salt, and upwards of 2000 seal and kangaroo skins. - This vessel ex- perienced much bad weather off this coast, and was some time nearly out of provisions. Same day the brig Active, Captain Thompson, from Port Jackson, put into Frederick Henry Bay, to join the ship Ann in the whaling season here. She left Sydney about a week after the Midas. Sailed on Sunday last for Port Jackson, the ship Caroline, Captain Taylor, with a cargo of wheat, &c. the produce of this Settlement. Same day sailed for Port Jackson also, the ship Mary, Capt. HOBART TOWN. - Sitting Magistrate - Thomas Bell, Esquire SHIP NEWS.-On Monday last ar- rived the ship Marshal Wellington, Captain Martin, with merchandize, from England 4 months and 5 days, having touched no where on her passage.-Passengers, Mr. and Mrs. Corney, and 7 children, Mr. Nicholson, Mr. Hugh Monroe, Mr. J. Hart, Mr. Charles Moore, Miss Kemp, and 11 others. His Excellency the Governor in Chief, and Mrs. Macquarie, proceeded to George Town on Tuesday the 15th instant, by water; but, owing to boisterous and showery weather, it was 8 o'clock in the even- ing before the barge reached George Town. His Ex- cellency was received by Lieutenant Colonel Cimetiere, the Commandant, with the detachment at the Station, under arms, and a salute of 19 guns. The Lieutenant Governor was prevented by severe indisposition, which confined him at Launceston, from accompanying His Excellency to George Town.
