It is no rare thing for those having cows to sell to allow them to go un milkedfor a time or two before selling, in order to iruDress the buyer with a well filled udder. This is both rascally ana cruel. Although we nave never heard of the law in this country inter fering in such matters, in England re cently a cow dealer was fined $20 and cost for an offense of this kind. Any cause that interferes with the condition of the cow after calving may produce milk tever. JBxpoaure, too much exercise or nervous excite i ment are suilicient to bring on an at tack', and a recovery is rare. It is the " ounce of prevention " in this case, a3 in many others, that is worth the pound of cure. Keep the animal quiet for a week "before and after calving, and nurse her well.
