THE RONAN PIONEER Entered as second-class matter May 12, 1910, at the post . Located in the Heart of the Great Flathead Indian Reservation office at Ronan, Montana, under the Act of March 3, 1879 Volume II. No. 14. RONAN, MISSOULA COUNTY, MONTANA, AUGUST 4,1911. $2 Per Year Hill Visits Reservation and Breaks All Auto Records Ronan citizens with their characteristic alertness again distinguished themselves by es corting Louis W. Hill's party of "Twin City to Helena" auto mobilists across the reservation. With the exception of a fleeting glance at three auto loads of Pol son delegates as the "Hill" party sped through St. Ignatius with Stanley Scearce's big 6-66 Pierce Arrow piloting the way there was no other evidence but that Ronan was the only town on the map. The first news of the proposed trip reached Ronan Sunday noon. Immediately a committee consist ing of Stanley Scearce, A. M. Sterling, John P. Swee and J. D. Larson was appointed to meet the railroad magnate and his party at R...

All notices of meetings and entertainments held for profit will be charged regular rates. A ride through the valley Wed nesday evening as the guest of Stanley Scearce in his EMF, shows that the farmers have been getting busy during the past week, and this fact is in evidence in every direction from Ronan. Where waving fields of grain were to be seen a week ago is now fields of shocked grain, and the close proximity of one to the other shows the enormous crop to advantage. Thousands of acres are already harvested and another week will witness pretty nearly all of the wheat in the shock. Some of the oats also are being cut and...

Q., and the price is just as cheap as at any big market elsewhere. We don't ask you to wait until we can send to some middle man wholesaler and the charge you a price based on the middleman's cut in profit. No. 16. RONAN, MISSOULA COUNTY, MONTANA, AUGUST 18, 1911. $2 Per Year Reduction of Shipping Rates on Grain Assured Negotiations have been in pro gress for sometime between Stanley Scearce and the N. P. railroad looking to a reduction in the shipping rates between Ra valli and Minneapolis and Duluth. This week Mr. Scearce received word that rate would be reduced from 49 to 40 cents per hundred on all kinds of grain, and this will be welcome news to the grain raisers of the Mission val ley. This will mean that wheat raisers of this valley will receive 5 4-10 cents per bushel more for their grain than had the old rates prevailed. Computed on this basis it means a saving to the farmers here of approximately $20,000. In other words, it will bring into the Mission valley just that amount...

H. Sa bin, chairman, Mrs. G. Pendry, John N. Innis, Miss Harriette P. When they were elected there were only seven schools in all this vast territory, and that was so inefficient as to make it. imperative that others must be established. The old board of trustees, who served one short year, started the good work and carried through a measure to vote bonds to erect school buildings in Ronan, St.Ig natius and Ravalli, the places where the necessity for schools was at that time the greatest, and succeeded in having three fin...
