Mcdairy, the Receiving Teller, was tlio iir-t prominent ollicer to reach the bank, and was applied to hy two ladies for the payment of a small check. II 0 tried to open the vault, but the lock of the outer door, with a combination knob, would not work. First one, then another, of the clerks was called to try the lock, hut all in vain.
