The Simmons Cowboys playing ihe best teams of the state and meeting most of these on foreign courts succeeded in ring- ing up a total of an even 600 points against 447 or their opponents in the basket ball season just closed. IN 'HPIPIP!PPPPPPI TTHflHRPl i VolV COWBOYS HAVE HARD TRIP IN FIRST CAMPAIGN OF BASE BALL SEASON After a hard trip having been up all- night the team arrived at Caldwell Mon- day morning March 21 at 3:45 a. m. From there service cars conveyed them to Bryan arrving there at 5:30. The only rest the team got was from 5:30 until noon. Middlcton was supposed to start in the pitchers box but arrived late thus forcing Ward to pitch. Ward showed the effects of the travel the night before and the A. & M. batters knocked him out of the box. in the sixth inning. Winters replaced Ward and held A. & M. to few hits in the last three innings. Tho game was featured by the hard hitting of A. & M. They knocked six three baggers during the game. Simmons showed lack of batting practice being unable to hit Henderson. Henderson has recently been signed up with Cleveland as has our pitcher "Lefty" Middleton.
