r & SPRING TRAINING CONTINUES: NEWCOMERS INCREASE RANKS Spring training continues and new faces appear every day. Coach Gene Taylor and Line Coach Tricky Ward ate really working in earnest trying to teach the fundamentals of football as well a show the recruits the Billies' style and type of play. The backfield goes through dally practices In spinning punting and passing. The ends are concentrating their attention on pass snagging as the Taylor system of football travels largely through the air. Some of the lads who have not made the Billy squad in the past are improving rapidly and are liable to hold down some of the berths on the 1937 edi- tion of the team. Socrates Walker a candidate for one of the end positions for the past two years is now show- ing that spark of Inspiration sought by coaches and will probably be one of those to whom uniforms are issued next year when ...
