J.—For 88 yean John Garrlty, seventy years old, Wbo died at a hospital here, did not know he had a sou who lived only a few blocks from the hospital. Since 1888, the year of the boy's birth, Garrlty had been a patient at the hospital. It was the date set for opening bids for the county depository for the coming two years. But one bid was submitted, that of the First State Bank^of Jackson- ville, offering two and one-half per cent interest on the daily bal- ances, conditioned that the coun- ty pay the premium on the in- demnity bond.
